The CPD year is 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026
Licensed agent must complete all compulsory topics relevant to category of licence and area of practice.
CPD delivery options
a face-to-face interactive training environment (maximum 40 attendees), or
an interactive webinar session, with a (maximum 25 attendees)
include an assessment activity.
Unlike previous year, you are NO longer able to complete CPD by online self-paced training.
Real Estate
Agents that hold a Real Estate category licence and are Residential Real Estate Salespeople, Buyers Agents and Residential Property Managers, must complete:
a minimum of 7 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 4 compulsory CPD topics.
Agents that hold a Real Estate category of licence and are Short-term Residential Property Managers must complete:
a minimum of 4 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 3 compulsory CPD topics.
Agents that hold a Real Estate category of licence and are a Commercial Real Estate Agent or a Business Broker must complete:
a minimum of 5 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 4 compulsory CPD topics.
All class 1 agents are also required to spend a minimum of five hours attending a NSW Fair Trading- accredited event.
STOCK and STATION
Agents who hold a Stock and Station category of licence must complete:
a minimum of 5 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 4 compulsory CPD topics.
All class 1 agents are also required to spend a minimum of five hours attending a NSW Fair Trading accredited event.
DUAL LICENCE HOLDERS
If you hold a dual licence in both real estate and strata and you are a residential real estate salesperson, buyers agent or property manager, you need to complete:
a minimum of 7 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 4 compulsory real estate CPD topics,
a minimum of 4 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 3 compulsory strata CPD topics, and
a minimum of 1 hour completing the mandatory additional online TAFE module on disclosures and fiduciary duty.
All class 1 agents are also required to spend a minimum of five hours attending a NSW Fair Trading accredited event.
If you hold a dual licence in both real estate and strata and you are a short-term residential property manager, you need to complete:
a minimum of 4 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 3 compulsory short-term residential property management CPD topics,
a minimum of 4 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 3 compulsory strata CPD topics, and
a minimum of 1 hour completing the mandatory additional online TAFE module on disclosures and fiduciary duty.
All class 1 agents are also required to spend a minimum of five hours attending a NSW Fair Trading accredited event.
If you hold a dual licence in both real estate and strata and you are a commercial real estate agent or business broker, you need to complete:
a minimum of 5 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 4 compulsory commercial real estate or business broker CPD topics,
a minimum of 4 hours’ interactive training delivered by an approved provider covering 3 compulsory strata CPD topics, and
a minimum of 1 hour completing the mandatory additional online TAFE module on disclosures and fiduciary duty.
All class 1 agents are also required to spend a minimum of five hours attending a NSW Fair Trading- accredited event.
Compulsory CPD topics that are the same for both categories only need to be completed once, and completion counts towards your compulsory topics for both licence categories.

CPD FAQs

Licence holders
If you are unsure which licence category you fall under, you can search for your licence on the Service NSW Public Register. Then, select your chosen CPD option (classroom, webinar, or online) specific to your licence category or categories.
Assistant agents
Assistant agents are required to complete at least three Class 2 licence modules each CPD year. This must be done to achieve the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice and make application for a Class 2 licence within four years from the registration issue date.
Assistant agent CPD is available via our self-paced online option.

NSW CPD must be completed between 1 July and 30 June each year. Licences can be renewed before completing CPD, as long as the training is completed within the designated period and a record of course completion (training certificate) is retained.
